That is why we are proud to be part of the Move Ap! project, the sustainable development initiative promoted by the San Martino di Castrozza, Primiero and Vanoi Tourist Board. <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ea8de04 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-invisible elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ea8de04\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_animation&quot;:&quot;fadeIn&quot;,&quot;_animation_delay&quot;:500}\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><em>A clean environment, a clear conscience: through this three-year programme, we are committed to taking concrete action every day to reduce our environmental impact, promote sustainable transport and enhance our local area, as part of the prestigious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alpine-pearls.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alpine Pearls<\/a> network.<br\/><\/em><\/p><p>We have been taking action on several issues:<\/p><p><strong>1. Sustainable Mobility and Gentle Mobility<\/strong><br\/>Reaching and enjoying the mountains without harming the environment is one of our primary objectives.<\/p><p>What are we now doing:<\/p><ul><li>We provide our resident guests with e-bikes so they can explore the surrounding area in an eco-friendly way.<\/li><li>We encourage and promote routes and paths that allow you to reach our restaurant directly by bicycle or e-bike.<\/li><li>We have installed an electric charging point specifically for our customers\u2019 bicycles.<\/li><li>We carry out annual maintenance on the <a href=\"https:\/\/cestrail.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ces Trail<\/a> network of paths, a project launched at Malga Ces to enable people to experience nature on foot or by running, whilst promoting respect for the local area.<\/li><\/ul><p><br>Our next steps:<\/p><ul><li>Improve the information available on how to reach the mountain hut and the valley by public transport.<\/li><li>To actively promote, to an ever-greater extent, the use of the Trentino Guest Card and local transport services (the Paneveggio Nature Park shuttle buses and the winter ski bus).<\/li><\/ul><p><strong><br\/>2. Energy Saving and Efficiency<\/strong><br\/><em>Small and large everyday actions to conserve energy and reduce emissions.<\/em><\/p><p>What are we now doing:<\/p><ul><li>We have replaced the old oil-fired boiler with a modern, new-generation biomass system.<\/li><li>We use almost exclusively ultra-high-efficiency LED lighting.<\/li><li>We choose the latest generation of energy-efficient household appliances.<\/li><li>We only turn on our sauna at the guest\u2019s specific request, to avoid unnecessary heat loss.<\/li><li>We regularly raise awareness and provide training for our staff on best practices for energy saving.<\/li><\/ul><p><br\/><strong>3. Promoting the Local Area and &#8220;Filtro Zero&#8221;<\/strong><br\/><em>We love what our land produces and we believe in the mountain supply chain.<\/em><br\/> <\/p><p>What are we now doing:<\/p><ul><li>Locally produced ingredients: we source almost exclusively ingredients from Trentino-Alto Adige for our restaurant\u2019s menus.<\/li><li>Local wine list: our wine cellar hosts over 90 per cent of local wines from the finest wineries in Trentino.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>4. Tackling Food Waste<\/strong><br\/><em>Food is a precious resource that deserves respect.<\/em> <\/p><p>What are we now doing:<\/p><ul><li>We offer our guests the chance to take home any food not eaten in the restaurant, thanks to our handy doggy bags.<\/li><li>We offer smaller portions for children and for those who prefer a lighter meal.<\/li><li>We encourage our staff to minimise waste when preparing dishes.<\/li><\/ul><p><br>Our next steps:<\/p><ul><li>To develop new recipes that make the most of even the least-used parts of ingredients (peels, flowers, leaves), minimising food waste in the kitchen.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong><br\/>5. Reducing Plastic and Waste Management<\/strong><br\/><em>Attention to detail, even where it isn\u2019t visible<\/em><\/p><p>What are we now doing:<\/p><ul><li>We have removed all single-use plastic products from all the hotel rooms.<\/li><li>We have been practising strict waste sorting for years.<\/li><li>We use a special in-house compactor for paper, plastic and dry waste, and a shredder for glass: this system enables us to reduce the volume of waste transported by 80 per cent, drastically reducing the environmental impact of transport.<\/li><\/ul><p><br>Through these initiatives, we actively support the goals of the UN Agenda (SDGs).
